A successful couple is a couple who knows their roles. I am not referring to who does the dishes or who takes out the garbage, but knowing how to relate to each other. There are permanent roles for couples to live out, in order for them to stay productive and long lasting. I want to share the number one need for the husband and wife.

A woman wants to be received, meaning to feel accepted and loved. A woman wants to know that she is very valuable and she is apart of a secure relationship. This need can be affirmed by verbal acknowledgement and acts of kindness. She wants to be listen to, felt included and cherish.

To be Respected

A man wants his wife to believe in him. A man needs support and encouragement. He needs to know that his wife will be right beside him through the good and bad times. This need can be met by sharing appreciation and verbal praise.

A standard that one lives by. Couples must live by principles in order for principles to guide, guard and govern them. When couples are principles-centered, they are equipped to resolve conflicts.

Marriage is a wonderful GIFT that God created for a man and women to enjoy for life. Marriage is similar to a beautiful cake. A cake must have the right ingredients, in order for it to taste good and look great! Here is the first ingredient:

1. Purpose

Purpose is the reason for existence. It is answering why something exist. God created marriage and anything God creates should reflect Him. When a couple have a child, that child resembles the people that created them. It is the same in marriage. Marriage should reflect the image of God. How is this done? God's image is made up of His character. God is love, joyful, peaceable etc.. When couples consciously focus on developing these qualities in their marriage, they are reflecting God image. Come together into agreement and implement this ingredient into your marriage.
